Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do lockscreen ads work with Fire Max 11 Fingerprint ID feature?
Once you have enrolled in Fingerprint ID on the Fire Max 11 (we recommend enrolling both index fingers), you will be able to unlock your device by touching your finger to the power button. If you have a tablet that is ad-supported, unlocking it will bring up a lockscreen ad. Simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to the home screen. Amazon Fire tablets use lockscreen ads to bring you lower prices. You can remove ads on your tablet by selecting the “without ads” box at the top of this page, or by going to Remove Ads from your Lockscreen page.
2. Do I need the Keyboard Case, Made for Amazon Stylus Pen, or Slim Cover?
No. While these accessories unlock new ways to use and benefit from your Fire Max 11, they are not required for day-to-day use. The Keyboard Case connects magnetically to the Fire Max 11. No setup is necessary and the keyboard does not require separate power or charging. As with all Fire tablets, you can connect Fire Max 11 to compatible accessories, like Bluetooth keyboards, mice, headphones and more. The Made for Amazon Stylus Pen uses the Universal Stylus Interface 2.0 (USI2.0). While any other USI2.0 stylus will work with the Fire Max 11, they may not have the same features available to them on the tablet, such as magnetic attachment or using the stylus button to erase. Like the Fire Max 11 Slim Cover, other covers may also work with magnetic attachment. If those covers have magnets in different places, it may interrupt some functionality of your Fire Max 11.
3. Where can I find out how to use the Keyboard Case shortcut keys, trackpad gestures, or features of the Made for Amazon Stylus Pen?
Tutorials and helpful references for both accessories can be found in the Settings app under Fire Tablet Accessories.
4. Are there eligibility limitations for the 3-month trial to Microsoft 365 Personal?
Yes. The 3-month trial offer is only available to new subscribers. It is not available to current subscribers or to customers who have had a M365 Personal subscription within the last year.
5. How do I sign up for the 3-month trial to Microsoft 365 Personal?
You can sign up for the trial through the Microsoft 365 (Office) app, available on the tablet or in the Amazon Appstore. The trial is also available on the Microsoft 365 (Office) app detail page on your Fire Max 11. You can cancel anytime and your subscription will expire at the end of that month. This is a limited time offer that is subject to change.
6. How does the 1-year limited warranty work?
When you purchase a new or Certified Refurbished Device, we warrant the Device against defects in materials and workmanship under ordinary consumer use for one year from the date of original retail purchase. If there is damage to the device such as a broken or cracked display, we urge you not to continue to use the device. Learn more at this link for full details.
7. Does the Fire Max 11 have a headphone jack?
No. The Fire Max 11 has a USB-C port. You can connect headphones via Bluetooth, a USB-C connector, or a 3.5mm-to-USB-C adapter.
8. Which micro-SD cards are compatible with Fire tablets?
When purchasing SD cards, make sure you are getting UHS, Class 10 or higher to support both internal and portable modes (class 4 or higher supports only portable). Some card formats, such as exFAT, are not supported on Fire tablets. You can re-format exFAT micro-SD cards to work with your Fire tablet, though this action will erase any existing data on the card.
To troubleshoot your card, see this help article.
9. What are lockscreen ads, and are they different from other ads or promotions on Fire tablets?
Fire tablets for adults come with lockscreen ads, also called “Kindle Special Offers,” to provide customers with the option of a lower price. These ads appear when you turn on or wake your tablet. To access your Home screen, just swipe the ad. The lockscreen ads can be removed for $15 at purchase, or at any time after you’ve set up your device. On Home and For You, you may see personalized product offers, recommendations, or sponsored content. In some apps, you may see ads for in-app purchases. Home screen content and app-based ads cannot be removed from Fire tablets.
To remove lockscreen ads, go to Manage Your Content and Devices and select your device. Under Special Offers, select Remove offers, then select End Offers and Pay the Fee. For more information, visit Unsubscribe from Special Offers.

The fit, the finish, the responsiveness. The screen quality. The peripherals, The price. The speakers are bold and noticeably present. It's thin, surprisingly so but does not sacrifice power and battery. It has great style. The camera is great. A wonderful addition to the Amazon ecosystem. Would suggest anyone with a Amazon account to purchase one. its a must have.
What I don't like:
Although this tablet performs at its best in the Amazon space, there are apps designed for the Android ecosystem that would be beneficial to Amazon customers, but they are far and few between here on Amazon. I don't want Google apps (or gapps) on my Amazon device. That's what I have a Google based device. There just needs to be more integration of Android apps, and not just the top five from every other Google or Apple like social media company.
Amazon should plan on expanding their apps with more variety, not just silly games or apps from random developers seeking weird permissions for jenky apps that look like other popular ones from the Google play store. Amazon has the hardware, they have the infrastructure, they need to finish strong with a productive and competitive app store.
What I super like about this Device:
Its a terrific cash register!
First and foremost, the Fire Max 11 tablet is powered by an octa-core processor, providing a smooth and responsive user experience. Whether you're multitasking, streaming HD videos, or playing graphics-intensive games, this tablet can handle it all without breaking a sweat. The performance is truly remarkable, especially considering its refreshingly affordable price tag.
With 4 GB of RAM, the Fire Max 11 ensures seamless multitasking and effortless switching between apps. I found it capable of handling multiple applications simultaneously, allowing me to be productive and efficient. Whether I was browsing the web, editing documents, or checking my emails, the tablet kept up with my demands effortlessly.
The 14-hour battery life of the Fire Max 11 tablet is truly impressive. I was able to use it extensively throughout the day without worrying about running out of power. This longevity is perfect for long flights, road trips, or even a full day of work without needing to reach for the charger.
In terms of storage, the Fire Max 11 tablet offers a generous 64 GB capacity, providing ample space for apps, games, documents, and media files. If you find yourself needing more space, there's also the option to expand it with a microSD card. Having this flexibility is great for storing large files or downloading your favorite movies and TV shows for offline viewing.
The design of the Fire Max 11 tablet is sleek and modern, with a stylish gray finish that gives it a premium look. The 11-inch display is vibrant and sharp, making it a joy to consume content, whether you're reading ebooks, watching movies, or browsing social media. The tablet's size strikes a good balance between portability and a comfortable viewing experience.
One of the standout features of the Fire Max 11 tablet is its integration with Amazon services. It seamlessly connects with Alexa, allowing you to control your smart home devices, ask questions, set reminders, and much more using just your voice. This hands-free functionality adds convenience to your daily life, making the tablet a versatile companion.
Overall, the Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet delivers exceptional value for its price. With its powerful octa-core processor, ample RAM, impressive battery life, and generous storage capacity, it offers a well-rounded user experience for both work and entertainment. If you're looking for a reliable tablet that won't break the bank, the Fire Max 11 is an excellent choice.
Pros:
1. Powerful octa-core processor for smooth performance.
2. Ample 4 GB RAM for seamless multitasking.
3. Impressive 14-hour battery life for all-day usage.
4. Generous 64 GB storage capacity with the option to expand.
5. Stylish design and vibrant 11-inch display.
6. Integration with Amazon services and hands-free Alexa functionality.
Cons:
1. Limited access to Google Play Store (Amazon's own app store is available but with a more limited selection).
2. May not be suitable for users who heavily rely on Google services.
In conclusion, the Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet is a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a powerful, versatile, and refreshingly affordable tablet. It offers an exceptional user experience, making it an excellent investment for both personal and professional use.
This is my 2nd Fire tablet, and I like it so much better than my first one, Fire 8 HD from 2017. I wasn't unhappy with the old tablet when I got it (because I got it on sale for a great price) but I just almost never used it because the screen was so unpleasant and stressful to look at, plus the device was annoyingly slow. Not so with this new tablet -- I am very pleased with the screen quality, and the speed is good for how I'm using it.
The pen and keyboard are also awesome. I wasn't sure at first whether I liked the aspect ratio/shape of the tablet but actually it makes sense. The longer shape allows for nearly full-sized key spacing on the keyboard while not causing the tablet to be unnecessarily large and heavy, as it would be with the iPad's aspect ratio. Someone said they prefer the snap-in clamshell keyboard that is available for the 10, but I much prefer this thin-and-light keyboard (didn't have the 10 but considered it and looked at pics of its keyboard). It is super easy and fast to pull off and snap on the keyboard and it does not need batteries. At home (where I have "real" laptops) I use the tablet mostly without the keyboard, and half of the keyboard case stays on it, protecting the back and the camera, and giving the tablet a nice non-slip feel, plus I can use the fold-out stand. I don't use it on my lap at school, and at home I use a lap desk so I don't mind that I can't put it directly in my lap. Really, I have no complaints at all about this setup.
Well, maybe I can complain a little about Fire OS but it is mostly okay. I would hate it for a phone but it is fine for a tablet. And it is much improved over what I had on my old Fire, especially the settings (I like to have control and info). I put Google Play on my previous Fire but I'm not sure I will do so on this one. I mean I have an Android phone that has things I'd like from the Play store, like my calculator collection and bank apps and whatnot. I don't need to replicate that on this tablet. I've installed F-Droid so I can still easily put a bunch of nice apps on it. I have a Linux terminal app (Termux) and will probably install a Linux distro with desktop which will further expand the usability. Plus I have a Microsoft 360 subscription from work and it is nice to have an app for that on this tablet too. It has the most critical work apps like Zoom and Teams and Office and Outlook. So it already has what I really need on a tablet. Oh, and Kindle, of course. I think in the past it was almost necessary to side-load Google Play but the Amazon App Store is better now, at least for a tablet.
I paid to get rid of the ads (I value discounts a lot, but aesthetics even more) and now this tablet is a pleasure to use. And soooo much less expensive than a similar setup would have been from Apple.
