Some features require linking your Amazon account, and downloading the Alexa application or using a compatible Alexa device. Internet connection speeds and availability depend on your internet service provider; if your internet service provider does not provide you with the maximum supported speed, you will not experience that maximum speed. Maximum network speeds, if applicable, reflect combined supported speeds across wired and wireless clients. Maximum wireless signal rates are derived from IEEE 802.11 standard. Specifications assume wired Ethernet connection; your experienced speed may vary when connected to an eero device that is configured as a wireless extender. Coverage estimates are based on normal use conditions. Actual range and performance can vary, and maximum supported speeds may not be available to all customers, due to factors such as local regulations (including power limits), network configuration, interference, connected devices, device usage, building materials, and obstructions. Specifications are based on use of a Wi-Fi 6 or later generation client device that supports 160 MHz. For more information about eero performance, visit support.eero.com. Combining eero Pro 6E devices with older generation eero devices on the same network may result in reduced performance across the network. |

The only complaint is the documentation on Amazon, which doesn't mention if the USB-C power adaptors are included. They are included. I bought 3 USB-C power adaptors which was not needed, which I am returning.
I was an early purchaser of an Asus Wifi 6 gaming router. When I upgraded, I used my existing Asus router in combination with their AI mesh software. Unfortunately, wifi phone calls would drop when the router would hand off to the other. I then switched to the Nest mesh wifi. While there were no dropped calls with a handoff, there was intermittent signal loss and speed issues. Next, I purchased an Ubiquiti dream router along with a U6 mesh node. The software was excellent and there were no signal losses. However, the speeds were not great at all. Apparently, the CPU is limited on what speeds it can deliver even with an ethernet cable.
I saw the Eero system on sale for Black Friday so purchased it and have been very impressed. It seems to be the complete package--flawless hand off when switching nodes, no signal losses, and great speeds. On the Ubiquiti mesh point, I would get around 300 Mbps down. On the Eero, it is 900+ (whatever I am receiving at my primary router). They both were hardwired.
I do agree with some of the others--I think Eero puts too many software/router options behind a paywall. I also wish they would have added 2 of the 2.5 gig ethernet ports instead of 1 although it will be years before many would truly need this.
Overall though, extremely satisfied. I have been a techie for decades now and the Eero is one of the best performing products I have ever purchased.
Netgear Orbi RBK753S (Costco):
-- Not reliable connectivity. Would lose connections or the router suddenly goes into a frozen state frequently. Tried with another unit too and faced the same issue. Netgear support was horrible. Also, it didn't have the support for parental controls.
ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 (Amazon):
-- This is the best router among all of them I have tested so far. I have been using the ASUS family of routers all my life. They are reliable and long life.
-- I had to return this because all my IoT devices which use 2.4 GHz often disconnect and g into a bad state. I had to frequently reset them to fix them.
TP-Link Deco X90 (Amazon):
-- Decent router but had to return these as they would suddenly freeze and had to restart them at least once in 2 days.
Reyee RG-R6 (Amazon):
-- Not bad router for the price but had to return them as they would freeze frequently and had to hard restart them. Sometimes, it takes more than 15 to 20 mins for them to restart.
I was excited about Eero Pro Wi-Fi 6E and pre-ordered them and so far they are really good and found no issues except the few temporary glitches to the clients.
Pros:
-- Set up was really easy and fastest among all these routers.
-- Nice app with intuitive design. Easy to use.
-- Elaborated parental controls (subscription is needed and currently I am under the 30 days eval period), security, add blocker, etc.
-- Might subscribe for Eero Secure+ Which comes with several other apps like 1Password, Encrypt.me for which I currently pay separately.
-- Fast speeds and reliable connectivity so far.
-- Future-proofed With 6E and realized that my wife's Google Pixel 6 Pro is connected to the 6 GHz band and has speeds touching 1 Gbps.
Cons:
-- Have to pay for security and parental controls where some of the routers like ASUS come built-in.
-- I had to restart some of my devices like Apple TV, and a couple of Windows PCs after switching to this router. They were using a 2.4 GHz band even though they support 5 GHz. But after the restart, they have been working just fine.
So far this router is a keeper and I'll update this review for any changes as I continue to use it.
