I became interested in Japanese green teas as a potter making small tea bowls. I discovered the Bonavita electric kettle after struggling for months to bring water to the proper temperature for optimum tea brewing, and have been using one for more than a year. Its precision and size are perfect for brewing temperature-sensitive beverages, including teas and coffees. I also like its very clean, functional design and appearance. Temperature is set via a small touch control pad at its base. It brings the kettle to the set temperature very quickly, and after adding water, returns it to the set temperature in seconds. The spout delivers a very clean, dripless and controlled pour. Overall, I have absolutely no complaints and would definitely buy another one just like it if this one ever fails.

Simple to use.   I use it for pour over coffee.  It helps make a very nice brew.  Smooth and controlled pour.   Heats water quite fast.  No complaints.  Lovely design.  I recommend.

High quality.

Bought this because the controls weren't on the handle,as others are. Glad I did!  Very thoughtfully designed; heats quick,auto shut off;but still shows temp as it cools (can be used for yeast baking!) till round 80*then display shuts off. The only con- base is too light; moves when moving the kettle, I put a pad under to keep it in place.
I've been using 2x a day for a week, hoping this lasts, love it!

I am a tea and coffee person and this electric kettle is awesome. Have more control with a goose neck spout. It is not 12 cup, 1/2 that and I love it. There isn't anything I don't like about it.

Heats up quickly and will hold at a temperature of your choosing. Built sturdily too. My only (small) gripe would be that the gooseneck is a little short versus other models, so requires you to get closer above the coffee grounds.

Worth the extra dollars

I'm a forgetful person, and have burned at least a couple of expensive saucepans, from forgetting I was boiling water on my stove. Not anymore! After a third near-fire at my kitchen, in under one year, while I'd forgotten a pan with water on my stove Christmas day, I realized that had to stop. I ordered this teakettle the following day, for its features, materials, quality, and auto-shutoff features.  Though it's too soon to talk about its long-term use—so far, I'm quite pleased, (AND relieved).
PROs: It heats up my water quite quickly, keeps the Temperature I want to keep, AND has a 1-hour Auto shutoff Feature. Its gooseneck spout is PERFECT for spill-free cup refillings; it looks stylish, with a deceptively low profile, on my counter.
 CONs: It does get noisy (which in my case, it is a good thing); its hot outer surface could burn a careless hand; Its water level markings are inconveniently located on the same side as the handle (unless you're a “leftie” this is inconvenient); Owner's Manual does recommend not to use it on same Circuit as another High-Wattage appliance, lest you trip the circuit.

Finally, Pece of Mind with my Tea!

I ordered this particular teakettle because it had temperature control. It works very quickly gets the water hot very quickly. It's very easy to operate.
