Lasko Silent Heater

We have a large finished walkout basement that doesn't get used very much. We have a dehumidifier, also from Walmart, in the back unfinished part, but the front part still smelled a little basementy. We have forced hot air heat, but it only heats the basement when it is on in the great room which is above the basement. So to try to freshen up and add a few degrees of heat to this basement area I thought I'd try this inexpensive, descreet heater. It has adjustable heat, it tells you what the heat is when you turn it on and a 1-8hr timer. For $60, free shipping, and I got next day delivery! I'd say great buy. I don't know about heating whole rooms in the dead of winter, but as a supplemental heat source, used sporadically as needed, I think it's perfect! It's light weight and quiet too.

Problem solved

The plug on my heater does not get hot like some others have reported. It's quiet. It works just like it should.

The display shows the current temperature. When you hit the + or -, it shows the set temp. The thermostat lets the temperature swing about 3 degrees. I have it set on 69, and it kicks in at 68 and off at 71.

I'm a lot happier with this one than I am with my noisy 10 yo oil-filled heater.

We use this heater as supplemental heat in our bedroom. In our 3,000 sq ft house, 700 sq ft is not heated - the rest is hot-water-cast-iron-radiator heated. This 1500 watt heater seems perfect in the 250 sq ft bedroom, but it's not quite enough for the 450 sq ft rec room. The rec room has drafty windows, so that could be most of the problem.

Quiet, Reliable, Quality heater

I had a similar product (Patton brand) years ago that I used to heat a 10'x40'x81/2H office space. I was always satisfied by it's performance. This Lasko is even better, and with the digital readout makes it a superior heater for a mid-range room. With a ceiling fan, you can use it in a larger room, or one with vaulted ceilings like the one I use this in. For the price, quiet operation, consistent thermostat control, you will be happy, satisfied for the purchase.

right choice

I use this heater as an auxiliary heater in front of my rather large french door assembly. I think it really helps reduce the heat loss through this massive glass piece. And it is aesthetically pleasant as it sits there all day. I'm not sure how much it has affected my electric bill though.

Great heater

OVERALL THE SPACE THE Lasko Silent Heater with Digital Display WAS A GOOD PURCHASE BECAUSE WE NEEDED IT HOWEVER IT HAD INTERNAL DAMAGE. AT THE CENTER OF HEATING ELEMENT THERE TWO HEAT RESISTANT PLASTIC CLIPS THAT SEEM TO PROVIDE SOME FIRMNESS TO HOLD IT IN PLACE. ONE THEM WAS BROKEN OFF AND IS LOSE WITHIN THE ARES WHERE THE HEAT ELEMENTS ARE. I HOPE IT DOES NOT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE. I DID NOT RETURN IT BECAUSE I NEEDED PRETTY BAD AND DID NOT ORDER ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE THEY WERE SOLD OUT. GOOD PRODUCT IN SPITE OF TH DAMAGE. THE OUTSIDE CASING DOES NOT HAVE ANY AREAS WHERE IT MAY HAVE BEEN DROPPED.

GOOD SPACE HEATER

This was my second purchase if this particular model which I initially bought last year to heat an approximately 900 sq ft finished basement. The one thing that will surprise you is how quiet the unit operates. I always have to check if it is really on!

However once you do turn it on and set it, it works very well. It does not put out a "blast" of heat, but rather has a steady warm even flow that once it reaches the selected room temp requires very little effort to maintain.

The low baseboard design easily fits along any exterior wall, and almost has a "built in" look. I purchased a black unit for a bedroom (which also works wonderful overnights) and a white unit for the larger family area. For very large rooms or areas, you might consider using 2 heaters, but for most small to medium size areas one unit should be fine.

I find the auto temp feature useful for heating while away because the unit will not run constantly and only turns on to maintain the temp setting. However, I would recommend the manual mode if you are in the room since the heater will not cut off once the set room temp is achieved. It also has a very handy "tip off" feature if someone should accidentally kick the unit over while it's operating.

So for about 60.00, you really can not ask for a more efficient, reliable, and once again QUIET performer.

Quiet, efficient performer

I purchased 2 of these in order to heat a large space. I am unsure as to whether the temperature setting is accurate, but the room does get warmer.   I have only used the heaters on twice since purchase.

Warms up a large room

It heated the room well but wouldn't stay on. I'd set it at 68 before bed and wake up freezing. Even during the day I'd turn it on and leave for maybe 10 minutes and come back and it'd shut off on its own. I saw in other reviews that other people had the same problem. I returned it and shelled out an extra $10 for a Honeywell radiator heater and I'm glad I did.

Shuts off after 10 minutes

i didnt receive any heater  but i would like to have the product that i ordered hopefully we can get to the bottom of this problem if your going to bill me then please send me the product tat i ordered and already paid for i will be waiting to hear from u on this matter  as i need my hearter for  winter thank u
