I used to get a bag of epsom salts from Walmart, which was fine, but I knew they had to be cheaper if bought in bulk.
Amazon to the rescue. Buying this amount in one go brought the cost per pound to under 1/2 what I paid at Walmart.
Seeing how they don’t go bad or expire, I figured may as well stock up for cheap, and it will save me some money, and trips to the store to get more.
My next thing is I am going to try to add some lavender oil/dried lavender flower to the epsom salts for that little extra relaxation.
Lot of it and will last
No scent
Besides soaking in the tub and using for injuries and soar muscles use to remove tree stumps and random overgrowth.
How? After research and trial and error to remove two stumps by a fence nothing worked. Upon spending a bunch in attempting various poisonous options found answers at YouTube University😁
My modification of the lessons learned, drill a one inch wide group of holes into the stump (my stumps were a foot in diameter) about two inches deep as the wet newly cut wood is difficult to penetrate. Include exposed large roots if they’re thick. Fill the holes with epsom. Walk away.
How many? I drilled a hole every couple of inches.
The epsom drains the moisture from the trunk and roots.
For random stray trees along the garden fence, cut them down. As close to the ground as possible. Drill holes. Epsom fill. Walk away.
Over time as the stump dries use a sawsal or chain saw to trim off the dried wood. In my case one treatment didn’t work. I did a second.
The stump dried and was easy to remove.
Due to the location a stump remover wasn’t possible nor was fire. Some people burn stumps off. It wasn’t possible in my case.
For the stray trees it took one treatment. The holes were smaller as the stumps were a couple inches wide. But the epsom took care of the root system easy peasy.
I’ve seen some people add water to the epsom. I don’t agree with this as the point of the salt addition is dry the stump.
I hadn’t tried rock salt but think the outcome could be the same, for a small price tag.
For less than $5 the stumps were destroyed and easy to remove in one season.
This method does require patience. But the outcome is remarkable, based on my experience
