About The Artwork

Into Clouds 40.5 x 48" Mixed Media on Paper. 2020 During my residency at The Ou Gallery, I was inspired by the surrounding healing landscape of the Bings Creek and the Maple Bay Seaside, located in the Cowichan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. I created a series of paintings, in which I describe my own sensory experience of the environment. Through watery blues, smoky grays, and salted lilacs, I evoke a queer emotional resonance in my work. This painting series is my own queer and visceral interpretation of the Cowichan terrain; comprised from the culmination of healing energies, the queer subconscious, and dreaming. My painting series "Utopia Terrains" is my own project vision for a world and queer future that is fluid and liberated. - Exhibited in Towards Utopia: Pride Month, Saatchi Art, The William Vale, Brooklyn, NY      * Colors and details may vary from digital photograph to original artwork.
