Absolutely! I have used regular store bought coffee as well as coffee I have ground myself. That&#39;s the beauty of this maker.

According to the instructions you can. I am not sure how fine a grind you can buy prepackaged, but I like coffee strong and that would require a fined grind than drip.

I&#39;ve been using La llave Espresso Coffee Regular and De-cafe.  It has worked out great, and makes a very tasty espresso type coffee.  I found that there are many informational videos about the Aeropress on Youtube &amp; some have been very helpful in regards to using &amp; maintaining the Aeropress.

I think any &quot;ground&quot; coffee will work as long as you are using an Aerobie Aeropress Coffee Maker filter so you don&#39;t get the grinds in your cup.  I have used store bought medium &amp; espresso fine grind coffee.  Both have given excellent results, making a great tasting cup of coffee.

Yes, but I prefer the finer grind that you get in the 12 oz. bags. It makes a richer brew. Stuff in cans is usually a cheaper grade of coffee.

I wouldn&#39;t recommend coarsely ground coffee that&#39;s bought in tins. If that&#39;s the sort of coffee that you are happy with, however, I recommend that you put it in coffee grinder and make it finer. You&#39;ll get more flavor that way. If you want to put it in straight from the can, then stir it in the cylinder a little while longer, and let it steep a bit, then press. Water has a tendency to go through coarse ground coffee a bit too fast. You&#39;ll not experience the great flavor you get from a finer grind. If you just want a regular cup of coffee, of course, the Aeropress will make just as good a cup of coffee as your percolator, but why not reach for the best taste you can get?

This works best and fastest with a fine or espresso grind. That said, I often buy whole bean coffee and grind it using the burr grinder at the store. I have a small burr grinder (much more consistent than the bladed type) that does the job, but is noisier and only does small batches. You can find espresso grind coffee, but they are also usually darker roasts than I like.

You can certainly use ground store bought coffee in the Aero Press. You should start off with1 1/2 scoops of store bought until you find the strength you like. Also, try to find and use a dark roast ground coffee. Or, a 50-50 light and dark grind until your lights go on with the flavour. I use about 17 grams of drip grind coffee which is a bit more than 1 1/2 scoops.

Can you use regular store bought coffee like Maxwell House to brew instead of grinding beans?

It would if you poured them out of the pods.

I'm used to a french press, which takes at least five minutes and messy to clean. The Aeropress takes less than two minutes and cleans so fast, your coffee is still piping hot after you rinse the unit and put it away. 
(Do clean it before you enjoy your coffee. This helps preserve the piston seal and the life of the unit.)
I just hope the replacement filters don't cost a fortune!

This is slick!

I have used several different coffee makers over the years, and absolutely LOVE this one.  It is quick and efficient, and cleanup is unbelievably fast and neat.  The quality of your cup of coffee will depend on what you start with (I like to grind my whole beans just before brewing) but the AeroPress seems to optimize the flavor of whatever coffee you use.  It is small enough to take along on trips, or even camping.  I highly recommend this product.

I find the coffee made with this to be almost as good as with a french press but the aeropress is  a bit faster to use and easy to clean.

Makes one cup of incredibly great coffee!  Top that with frothed cream and it can't be beat!  I purchased a second one for a unique graduation gift for a college student who loves coffee.

This is now my favorite way to brew coffee. Quick, easy, convenient, and flavorful coffee in less than two minutes.

Bought as a gift for my partner who wanted to experiment with "sampling" different coffee varieties... the Aeropress makes one of the best "cups" of coffee, though it is not practical for "volume"

Great Coffee Maker

It does make a great tasting cup of coffee. Tricky part is trying to get a large cup of coffee out of it.  If you follow instructions that come with it you only get about an 8  ounce cup.   I also bought a regular French press but the taste wasn't as good as aeropress.   Keeping the aeropress and working on getting a large cup out of it

Would get 5 stars if it was slightly bigger. But this thing is amazing, doesn't taste quite as good as french press in my opinion, but it's as close as you can get without the headache.

Every company has problems from time to time.
The real test is how you deal with them.
Aeropress Inc. chose to wait 5 days to respond to my questions, until they had fixed the problem, and then lie to me about it, pretending that there wasn't a problem.
The tracking information showed that it didn't leave their plant for 5 days after it was supposed to ship.
After I wrote to them to ask why, it was actually shipped. 5 days later, after it arrived, they finally responded to let me know that it had been delivered.
Deceit and denial are their go-to problem solvers.
Do business with them at your own risk.
I know that I will never do so again.

Don't know about the device, but Aeropress Inc. left a bad taste in my mouth.
