This mask is so comfortable. The beaded weight is perfect and conforms to my eye area perfectly. The material is very soft and soothing. I love that the beads in the mask get cold, but not so cold that it’s uncomfortable. It is such a soothing mask! I wear it till it starts warming up (about 10 minutes) and then flip it around and get another 10 minutes of cool relief from the other side.
After using the mask once, I ordered a 2nd mask. That way I could have cooling relief longer. I’m thinking about ordering two more.
While I bought the mask to help with my swollen and painful eyes, it is also wonderful for my migraines. And I also use it on my forehead to help cool me down when I’m overheated.
Now the negatives. 1. It does not massage your face. If you want the beads to massage, you have to do it yourself. 2. Unfortunately it does not defy the laws of thermodynamics, and it only stays cold for so long (just like every other mask that comes out of the freezer). Hence why I bought two of them. 3. If you leave it on a table unattended, your new puppy will think it’s a chew toy. But good news, you can put the beads back in it, sew the hole back up and it will be good as new.
I’ve had this mask for 8 years and it’s still in like new condition. And I use it pretty frequently. I highly recommend it.

A basic function of a sleep mask is to block light. This mask is fine at blocking light. If you have some kind of significance light problem going on where you sleep, such as intense light beaming right on your face, you may want to get some kind of really large mask that covers a wider area across your face, but for most common situations with ordinary light-blocking needs this does a fine job.
The things that make this mask a bit different include the shape of the mask and weight distribution are designed to rest on the pressure points around they eye sockets while there is next-to-no weight on your actual eyeballs. It will still help with dry, itchy eyes in my experience but won't cause eye discomfort.
The weight is generally soothing, even in the absence of pain, and I find it makes me feel cozier and mare calm. It seems this is true of weighted sleep products in general. I do wear this mask for just that purpose fairly often, although some may prefer the fuzzy wrap-around type a bit more if that is their primary goal.
This mask is a bit different simply because for me it is the one that best helps with sinus pain and sinus headaches. That is where this mask is significantly better than others - sinus pain, pressure, and sinus headache relief.. The distribution of the weight on me hits many of the spots I use to perform accupressure (amateur but researched a fair bit) around my eyes. Because of that distribution of weight I find this is more effective at relieving sinus headache pain and some other types of headache pain. I note a tip I picked up for sinus pain below that can be added to enhance relief while wearing this mask, or whenever you like by pressing on the areas manually, but this mask will usually provide significant relief for me all on its own and it does that a bit better than other masks I have tried. Your experience may be different.
The design of the construction of this mask is also really great because there is no shifting around of beads or sand or anything. So you aren't going to fall asleep with all of the weight where it should be and then wake up with all of the beads having slid to the outside of the mask at the sides of your head. That is a problem with a number of these type of masks, but I have noticed absolutely zero shifting in this mask.
Some may like that it is not at all "girly" or trying to look like a luxury item. No man, and no woman who dislikes products designed to appeal to women (i.e. satiny, pink, sparkly, leopard, fluffy, cutesy), will have a problem with this mask for those sorts of reasons. It doesn't come off as "manly" either. It also doesn't come off as clinical. It is neither gorgeous nor ugly. It is utilitarian and efficient in appearance in a nice, neutral, gray shade. So if you don't want to look like you are using something from the set of "Legally Blonde" this may be a good mask for you.
A couple of additional considerations - the fabric is soft enough to be comfortable without seeming in the slightest bit delicate. I would not describe it as "soft" when compared to some other masks but it certainly isn't stiff or rough. The fabric is comfortable and not slippery. The color is good as if you get eye makeup on it, or anything else, it would likely hide any resulting stain that remained after cleaning it. These features add to this mask's utility.
This is the one potential issue - the elastic. When I saw the rather thin elastic band that attaches at about the temple-area on each side of the mask and holds it in place, I was a bit concerned that it would detach and need to be repaired, or that it was too flimsy to keep the mask, which again is a little heavier than some (although by no means heavy), in place, or that it would tangle in my long hair. I am happy to report that I have had zero problems with the elastic. That being said, between the comfort of the mask, my weighted blanket, and carefully arranged sleep position, I no longer move around a lot at night (knock on wood). I have turned on my side, though, with no issues. I do think the design of the band could better, but I didn't remove a star as for me it works great, so far anyway. The elastic is neither loose so that it will tangle and allow the mask to slip, nor is it too tight to where it applies pressure. I can't feel the elastic at all, for the most part.
To add to that thought, I should note that there is nothing on the mask that is itchy or that pokes you or pinches and it has zero scent.
For sinus pain, a tip to help with pain relief while wearing this mask - press your tongue against the roof of your mouth while wearing the mask. Hold it there for a bit, 10 to 30 seconds, and possibly add additional gentle pressure by pressing on the "third eye" area between and slightly above your eyebrows. This can help drain the sinus cavities or at least disrupt pain signals.
I very much recommend this mask. I think that other than the band, which gives me personally no issue, it is very well-designed with a comfortable, sturdy fabric and great weight distribution that stays put. For me, this mask blocks light, relieves pain, and enhances comfort even in the absence of pain. Especially at this price, and especially if you get sinus pain and headaches, this is likely to be a very good buy for you.
Surgery? Allergies? You want this. I bought two so I could use them back-to-back and swap out which one was in the freezer. Be sure to sticky-roller it sometimes though, because the fabric can attract fuzzies and hair.
In short, it’s GREAT!
It’s weighted but, doesn’t put pressure on your eyes, which is essential when you have a migraine or simply want to be able to wear it for several hours of rest or sleep.
Pros:
It keeps light out when you’re trying to rest or sleep (day or night)!
The concave eye area is wonderful!
It’s comfortable!
It’s weighted to provide some gentle pressure around the eyes but, not on the eyes.
The nose cutout fits well.
It’s similar to the eye pillow my Yoga teacher passed out at the end of class for savasana (absolutely wonderful)!
Cons:
The elastic headband is narrower than I’d like and it’s not adjustable.
Summary:
I recommend it and when the elastic headband stretches, I’ll likely order another one simply because it’s been so comfortable and helps me get the rest I need.

Comfortable enough to sleep in as well.
