This is a product made by the super giant Procter & Gamble which is not cruelty free but they never claimed to be. This ACV Rinse has a light apple scent with the consistency of water. I ran this product through a cosmetic ingredient checker and has a few red flags: phenoxyethanol which is an unnecessary fragrance and preservative, benzyl alcohol that is also fragrance and preservative, fragrance (obvious), and amodimethicone which is a silicone. It also has Citric acid which isn’t good for sensitive skin but also anti-aging. It didn’t anything to my hair besides make it look gross. I wouldn’t recommend this.
I’m aware you can make your own apple cider vinegar rinse but I like using this stuff more. It actually smells good, it has an easy pour spout to get all over your scalp, and you don’t have to worry about getting the ratio correct. This stuff helps my scalp any time it’s itchy at all. It can also be used as a gentle shampoo and I’d say any hair type could use it. It makes my scalp feel clean but not stripped. I wouldn’t use it as an everyday shampoo but I use it in between shampoos.
I have a very flaky, itchy and dry scalp. I had been using the cantu hair rinse but, I couldn’t find it on here anymore and decided to try this one instead. First thing is the bottle was small. I tend to use a lot of the product in my hair. I have long thick curly hair so, after the first use half of if is gone. Either way the actual rinse worked great. It got rid of my flaky scalp and itchiness immediately.
I've used this a few times and it smells fantastic!! The issue I have is for whatever reason it leaves my hair full of static electricity. I've used it after shampooing with no conditioner and also after shampooing with conditioner after applying the rinse. Maybe I'm not using it properly but that's my experience so far. I have half a bottle left so I will try again but I can't say I will reorder. The smell is great but I had better results with regular ACV mixed with water.
Shampoo hair as normal THEN dump this into your hair, dividing your hair and letting it rinse directly on your scalp, and let sit for three minutes. Shave your legs. Practice your interview skills. Whatever. THEN apply conditioner.
My super thick, very curly hair was getting so nasty with all the product I need to use to keep it tame, but this stuff has helped a lot.
Do you enjoy greasy hair? How about grit so thick that you can’t even run your fingers through your hair? Do you like knowing that you just wasted your time rinsing your hair with a product that doesn’t actually rinse your hair but some how makes your hair much worse than how it started? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then this product is for you. But if you love yourself at all and answered no to those questions then stay far far away. I don’t know who these people are that are saying that this rinse makes their hair soft but they must be getting paid 1 million dollars to say so. My hair has never felt so disgusting after using a product before. I mean, it honestly feels like I’ve taken kinetic sand and massaged it into the very follicle of my hair shaft and there’s no going back. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY!!
