We know how helpful it is to stay connected when abroad. So, to get Home From Home, all you need to do is go to one of our 48 Home From Home destinations – we’ll take care of the rest. You can just roam and relax.

And remember, you can always cap your contract, so your bill will never be more than you expect.

Need an extra dollop of data while you’re away? No problem. You can add a data bundle any time in our app or My Account.

 

 

 

With Home From Home you can use your phone in our 48 European Home From Home destinations just like you do at home. You can use your minutes, texts and data as normal, and if you run out, you just pay our standard rates as you would at home. All our customers can get Home From Home, on both pay monthly and pay as you go.

In any of our 48 Home From Home destinations, when you call, text or use data it will come out of your monthly allowances or bundles. If you run out of your allowances or bundles you’ll just pay the same standard rates that you’d pay in the UK. Here are our pay monthly rates and our pay as you go rates.

And while you’re in a Home From Home destination, you can also call or text mobiles and landlines in any other Home From Home destination and it’ll work in exactly the same way.

Home From Home isn’t meant for people who don’t live in the UK, so we have some limits to stop that happening. If you spend more time in Home from Home destinations (than in the UK and the rest of the world), or if you use more of your allowances in Home from Home destinations than in the UK and the rest of the world, then we’ll apply the fair usage policy.

This means that when you use your phone, you’ll still use up your monthly allowances or bundles and then when they run out you’ll pay our standard rates, but on top of that we’ll also add an additional surcharge. If we’re going to do this, we’ll text you first to let you know what your options are.

We’ll send you a welcome text whenever you arrive in a new country. This will include a link to the Home From Home page on our website. It’ll also remind you that you can call 280 free any time while you’re away for info.

Our Home From Home destinations are mainly in Europe. Here’s our rest of the world pricing

No, it’s just the same as using your phone in the UK. When you’re in Home From Home destinations, your minutes, texts and data will come from your bundles, otherwise they’ll come off your balance (including your free credit from Triple Credit).

No, that has different rates and is called international calling

In any of our 48 Home From Home destinations, when you call, text or use data it will come out of your monthly allowances or bundles. If you run out of your allowances or bundles you’ll just pay the same standard rates that you’d pay in the UK. Here are our pay monthly rates and our pay as you go rates.

And while you’re in a Home From Home destination, you can also call or text mobiles and landlines in any other Home From Home destination and it’ll work in exactly the same way.

Home From Home isn’t meant for people who live abroad, so we have some limits to stop that happening. Read our fair usage policy.

All Tesco Mobile customers can enjoy using Home From Home until 2025

  • If you joined us or upgraded on or after 16 June 2022, you can use your phone like you do at home without additional roaming charges until 2025. We will be in touch with all impacted customers at least 30 days ahead of any changes taking effect. Current roaming prices are available at tescomobile.com/roaming
  • If you joined us before 16 June 2022, then you can continue to use Home From Home until you choose to upgrade.

You can use all the minutes, texts and data in your monthly allowances or bundles. You can also use any free bundles from things like Family Perks, loyalty bundles and free credit from Triple Credit. And you can use any one-off bundles that you buy during the month as well.

If you want to use more than this, you can, but you’ll pay our standard pay monthly rates or standard pay as you go rates, just like you would at home.

You can now use your allowances in the UK and when you’re in any of our Home from Home destinations.

Your tariff now includes:

  • A minutes allowance for calling standard UK mobile numbers, UK landlines starting with 01, 02 and 03 and standard numbers in Home From Home destinations*
  • A text allowance of 5000 messages to text standard UK numbers and standard numbers in Home From Home destinations*
  • A data allowance** for using apps, going online, sending and receiving emails, downloading music and streaming video when you’re in the UK and any of our Home From Home destinations

* When you’re in a Home From Home destination

We’ll text you if you’re near any of your limits and let you know your options.

The inclusive roaming until 2025 is available to all pay monthly customers in and out of contract.

We regularly review our offers to make sure we’re offering our customers the best value. With this in mind, we have made a decision not to introduce EU roaming fees until 2025 to make sure customers travelling abroad can continue to benefit from our EU roaming offer. 

We know how important it is for our customers to be able to plan ahead which is why we communicated the change to customers as soon as we could. 

We're currently working on ways to give our customers simple and great-value connectivity when travelling within the EU from 2025. We'll share more details in due course.

 

We’ll make sure impacted customers have at least 30 days’ notice before we implement any changes. 

Pay monthly customers who joined us after 16th June 2022 will be subject to roaming charges from 2025.

 

Pay monthly customers (in and out of contract) who joined or upgraded before 16th June 2022 won’t be affected by any future roaming updates and will continue to use their UK data allowance at no extra cost in 48 Home From Home destinations in the EU and beyond until they choose to upgrade or change their contract.

There are no changes for our pay as you go customers. They will continue to enjoy Home From Home roaming at no extra cost.

We’ll be in touch with all impacted customers at least 30 days ahead of any roaming changes coming into effect, but no changes are planned for 2024.

Customers who signed with Tesco Mobile on or after 16th June 2022 (or who will sign with Tesco Mobile in the future) have agreed that standard roaming charges will apply in Home From Home and other international destinations. The extension of our inclusive roaming offer for the remainder of 2023 and 2024 is a goodwill offering to our pay monthly customers. As such, there’s no change to existing contract prices, so customers won’t be able to cancel without incurring early cancellation penalties.

The offer was extended to ensure those travelling abroad can continue to access our free Home From Home roaming offer in 48 countries in Europe and beyond. Our ambition is to provide customers with simple and great-value conectivity when travelling abroad and this will be at the forefront of any roaming charges implemented.

There’s no cap/usage limit.
If people want to limit their usage to avoid any unexpected charges, customers have the option to set a safety buffer – this can be set to £0 if they wish. Customers can manage this themselves through their account. It’s also possible to limit additional charges by switching roaming off before landing at their destination.

Customers travelling within the Republic of Ireland will continue to be able to use their UK mins, texts and data (included in their allowance). Standard out of bundle roaming rates apply. See tescomobile.com/roaming for full details.

This is just an example, as dates have not been confirmed: They will get roaming included as part of their UK mins, texts and data from 1 – 3 January 2025. On and after 4 January, the customer would be charged for roaming in line with the new charges.

All impacted customers will be contacted at least 30 days ahead of any changes taking effect.
