Rocked to perfection.

Blackened, the Whiskey created in collaboration between the iconic metal band Metallica and the late artisan craft distiller Dave Pickerell, is a blend of high-quality Bourbons, Ryes, and Whiskeys, married in Black Brandy casks and then… treated to a Metallica concert. They used a sonic-enhancement technique to infuse the Spirit as it ages, using the fury of heavy metal to intensify the wood-flavor characteristics in the Whiskey. How? The subwoofers amplify low-frequency sound waves, making the liquid and wood engage in an intense dance that leaves the Spirit reeling with a unique spunky woody kick. In 2019, Rob Dietrich took over as Master Distiller and Blender, keeping the flame of Dave’s legacy blend wide ablaze.

Their Blackened Cask Strength Whiskey is raw, uncut, and unapologetic. They took the original blend of North American Bourbons and Ryes, locked them in Brandy casks, and let them battle it out to the death (of flavor, that is). Distilled at the Sweet Amber Distilling Co, the liquid got treated to some sonic enhancement, which is science-talk for "we played some loud music to make it taste better." It is non-chill filtered and full of attitude, delivering an award-winning viscous mouthfeel and an even bolder flavor profile. Expect a head-banging palate with hints of walnut, caramel, and vanilla creme, followed by a memorable finish of brown sugar, ancho chili, and cinnamon spice. We don’t know about you, but they can absolutely color our world Blackened.

**** Volume number and ABV may vary:
